Polypropylene woven fabric

Polypropylene fabric is in demand in many industries and offers many advantages:

  • high strength and wear resistance as well as long service life
  • wide range of applications, easy to process and use
  • safe for people and the environment and also recyclable
  • customisable with the necessary specifications (density, size, colour etc)
  • custom-printable.

Production of polypropylene woven fabric

The fabric is produced using the equipment from Starlinger (Austria), the recognised world leader in the field of polymer processing. Thanks to many years of experience and proprietary innovative technologies and developments, the name of the Company has long been synonymous with quality.

We only use top-notch raw materials and additives. The fabric is produced using state-of-the-art circular weaving machines: FX 6.1 (HD), FX 8.0 and FX 10.0 for big bags (MKR containers) as well as Alpha 6.0 for bags.
The volume of fabric production reaches 3,500 tonnes per month.

Thanks to the addition of a UV stabilizer, the PP fabric is resistant to solar radiation, and the amount of light-stabilising additive is normalised and strictly controlled.
Quality control is carried out in the Company’s laboratory, where the fabric undergoes regular tests to determine resistance to breaking loads, UV irradiation and other factors.

Applications of polypropylene fabric

Production of polypropylene woven bags

PP fabric bags are one of the most common and universal types of containers.
Our own full-cycle production allows production of woven PP bags of various sizes and types: conventional woven bags and block bottom valve bags.

Production of big bags (FIBC), railcar liners and liner bags

When sewing big bags, various types of UV-stabilised polypropylene fabric are used. The choice of fabric depends on the type, carrying capacity and reliability of the container as well as the characteristics of the cargo and conditions of its transportation and storage.

Polypropylene fabric with a density of 120 to 160 g/m2 and a sleeve width of 120–160 cm is usually used to produce one- and two lift loops containers. In most cases, a 150 cm wide and 140 g/m2 dense sleeve is used.

The fabric used for the load-bearing shell of four-loops big bags can be up to 200 g/m2 dense and up to 210 cm wide.

Less-dense fabrics, including laminated ones, can be used for the manufacture of the structural elements of bulk bags (loading/unloading hatches and lapels).

Polypropylene liners for rail cars and containers (liner bags) are used to protect goods in open cars and sea containers from adverse environmental factors and spillage. For their manufacture, we use PP fabric with a density of 90–140 gm2.

Production of tents, canopies and shelters

Tents and canopies made of polypropylene fabric allow repeated use and are designed for long-term use even in adverse weather conditions. Tents are used to create temporary canopies in construction and warehousing as well as to protect agricultural products, materials and equipment against precipitation.

Use in construction and furniture production

Polypropylene fabric is used during the construction of buildings and structures as a water- and vapor-insulating material for roofs, walls and foundations.
It is also used as a geotextile for road construction and landscape design.
During drilling fabric coatings protect the surface layer of soil from contamination.
In furniture production PP fabric is used as a universal upholstery material for the manufacture of upholstered furniture.

Types and specifications of produced polypropylene fabric

The Company’s manufacturing facilities allow production of the following types of fabric:

  • tubular
  • half-tubular
  • flat

Depending on the size, the sleeves can be produced both with and without folds.
For the production of half-sleeve and canvas, the sleeve fabric is cut using ultrasonic cutting, which ensures smooth non-crumbling edges and prevents the dissolution of the fabric.
